- The Mirissa Bay is famous for its surfing. Alongside the Palace is one of Sri Lanka's well known surfing points,
comparable to the world famous Arugam Bay and Unawatuna Beach surf
- Swimming, snorkeling and SCUBA diving
- Exploring the regional sites of cultural interest like the Veheragala Buddhist Temple
- A short trip to the old Dutch fort in Galle. This is a UNESCO world heritage property and a 45 minute drive away
from the Palace
